About the Canadian Sepsis Foundation

Founded in 2017, the Canadian Sepsis Foundation is a registered Canadian charity of volunteers, critical care specialists, researchers, and patient partners. Its mission is to raise awareness of the severity and prevention of sepsis in Canada through public education, advocacy, support for survivors and their families, and support for sepsis research.

Our mission includes:
✅ Promoting early recognition of sepsis and encourage people to seek urgent medical care when symptoms are present
✅ Educating Canadians about sepsis risks, prevention, treatment and recovery
✅ Sharing the experiences of sepsis survivors and families to improve public understanding
✅ Advocating for greater awareness and improvements in sepsis prevention, recognition and care
✅ Connecting patients, families, clinicians and researchers around shared priorities
✅ Supporting public education and awareness initiatives as resources permit
