About the Canadian Sepsis Foundation

The Canadian Sepsis Foundation is a national charitable organization led by sepsis survivors, family partners, critical care specialists, researchers, and volunteers. Sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection that can progress rapidly. Early recognition and treatment can save lives. Our mission is to help Canadians understand the signs and risks of sepsis and to strengthen public awareness, prevention and advocacy across Canada.

About Advisory Members

Passionate individual persons who have strong areas of expertise and want to support the Canadian Sepsis Foundation’s in a voluntary capacity through certain key areas (clinical care, health management, research, industry, finance, government, marketing, etc.). Advisory board are non-voting members.

Membership Fee: Free

Membership Term: Annually on January 1

Responsibilities

• Advising management and the Canadian Sepsis Foundation Board of Directors on matters relating to Canadian Sepsis Foundation’s strategic planning and execution in the areas of sepsis education, awareness, policy and health equity.

• Advise management and the Board of Directors on significant emerging trends and issues in sepsis provider education, awareness, health equity, and policy and the potential impact of such on Canadian Sepsis Foundation.

Duties

• Identify and share with Canadian Sepsis Foundation Board and staff any new and emerging trends in sepsis education, policy, and research.

• Attend Advisory Board meetings.

• Advise the Board and Canadian Sepsis Foundation leadership regarding the quality, direction, and competitiveness of Canadian Sepsis Foundation programs.

• Respond to Canadian Sepsis Foundation Board and staff requests for feedback, participation on Councils, and participation in awareness, education or policy efforts.

Composition

The advisory board will consist of a diverse and talented group of individuals from all sectors related to Canadian Sepsis Foundation’s mission (to help Canadians understand the signs and risks of sepsis and to strengthen public awareness, prevention and advocacy across Canada).
